A woman has been convicted of murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 42-year-old grandfather, Gavin Hubbard. The incident, which occurred at Mr. Hubbard’s residence in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, on 19 May, stemmed from a disagreement concerning stolen drugs. Tuche Coskun, a 22-year-old county lines drug dealer residing at Central Avenue, Enfield, north London, received the guilty verdict following a two-week trial held at St Albans Crown Court. Her sentencing is scheduled for 16 January at the same judicial venue. During the trial, the jury was informed that Ms. Coskun distributed heroin and cocaine, and that Mr. Hubbard had confessed to taking drugs from her. George Carter-Stephenson KC, representing the defense, presented to the jury that Ms. Coskun had become involved in drug dealing after being laid off from her warehouse job, driven by a desire to support her mother. Despite her plea of not guilty to the murder charge, asserting that her actions were in self-defence, the jury delivered a unanimous guilty verdict. She was acquitted of the charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Prior to the trial, Ms. Coskun had confessed to two charges of possessing Class A drugs with the intent to supply. On the day the murder occurred, emergency services were dispatched to a Linkfield address shortly before 03:00 BST. Paramedics’ attempts to save Mr. Hubbard were unsuccessful, and he passed away at the location. Detective Inspector Justine Jenkins issued a statement, saying: “Firstly, I would like to extend my sympathy to the family of Gavin Hubbard who sadly lost his life in this incident.“This was a challenging investigation, and I am grateful to the jury for reaching their verdict on this case.”” Post navigation Man Sentenced for Drug-Impaired E-Scooter Crash Man Arrested Following Assault on Taxi Driver in Colchester
