Law enforcement officials have taken a 54-year-old woman into custody in connection with an alleged attempted child abduction incident close to Southport. Merseyside Police reported receiving two separate accounts of a woman in a vehicle behaving suspiciously in the Stamford Road vicinity of Birkdale, Merseyside, during the afternoon of Wednesday, November 6. These reports included an account of a teenage male experiencing inappropriate touching and another instance where a schoolgirl was offered a ride. Authorities clarified that the girl did not enter the vehicle, and no physical contact took place. Police officials stated that a woman, who had been detained on suspicion of sexual touching and the attempted abduction of a child, has since been granted conditional bail while investigations proceed. Detective Inspector Edward Barr commented: “Our enquiries are at the very early stages as we seek to establish what has taken place and I would ask people not to comment or speculate while enquiries are being carried out.” He emphasized that it was “important that we are able to carry out our investigation fully and fairly,” and further mentioned that support for those impacted and their families remains ongoing. He concluded: “We have increased patrols in the Birkdale area to reassure people and I would ask anyone with any concerns or with information which could assist with our enquiries to contact us as a matter of urgency.” Post navigation Cambridgeshire Police Announce Record Weapon Surrender in Amnesty Cheese Theft Poses ‘Very Difficult’ Loss for Supplier
