Winter Emergency Funding Allocated for Homeless Support

Councils throughout the region have been granted over £300,000 to assist rough sleepers during the winter season. This sum originates from a £10 million fund being distributed across London and 115 local authorities. The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government indicated that the funding aims to provide emergency accommodation and lessen the danger of fatalities in the colder months. The department stated that these funds have been directed to areas exhibiting the “highest need based on rough sleeping data.”
