William Tate has secured re-election as President of Alderney’s States following the latest election. Tate, who has served as president since 2019, competed against Mark Smith in the recent poll. The election saw a 51% turnout, and out of 733 total votes cast, Tate received 467 votes, representing approximately 64%. He has been elected for a four-year term and also holds the position of chairman of the States of Alderney. Opposing candidate Mark Smith obtained 256 votes.
