Work to construct a mini-roundabout at a Whitchurch junction is set to begin in the new year. Councillor Tom Biggins, the representative for Whitchurch North, reported that residents have voiced frustration regarding the “endless delay” in the project at the intersection of Claypit Street, London Road, and Brownlow Street. The undertaking is required to be performed by Wain Homes, a condition arising from its Talbot Manor development situated on the adjoining Alport Road. Councillor Dan Morris, who holds the highways portfolio at Shropshire Council, mentioned that the initiative had faced “a range of complex challenges,” but, weather permitting, work is anticipated to start in mid-January. He confirmed, “Our highways development control officers have now signed off the contractor’s proposals for the proposed mini-roundabout scheme.” This information was gathered by the Local Democracy Reporting Service, which covers councils and other public service organisations.
