Two firefighters from West Sussex are preparing to walk 52 miles across the county in their complete uniform to generate funds for charity. On Tuesday, Jordie O’Hara and Katie Gray, both from Littlehampton Fire Station, will embark on a walk from East Grinstead Fire Station to Selsey Fire Station. This endeavor aims to benefit the Fire Fighters Charity and the children’s hospice Chestnut Tree House. The West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service states that the pair intends to finish the journey within 24 hours. Ms O’Hara commented: “We have definitely set ourselves a bold challenge, but we are determined to complete it within our targeted timeframe.” Ms Gray further added: “The Fire Fighters Charity supports firefighters and their families from the day [they] join the fire service, and even once they leave.“Jordie and I recently visited the Chestnut Tree House too and we were in awe of the facilities they provide and the work they do, so we are hoping to help in any way we can to bring them more donations.”
