Passengers utilizing train services in the West Country have been advised of additional disruptions stemming from continuous engineering projects. Network Rail is undertaking track replacement in the Newbury vicinity, alongside efforts for flood alleviation at Newbury Station and upgrades to level crossings situated at Kintbury, Thatcham, and Midgham. From Wednesday through Friday, train services between Newbury and Westbury are scheduled to be suspended. Routes connecting London Paddington with Devon or Cornwall will be rerouted between Reading and Taunton, passing through Swindon. A portion of these services will proceed via Bristol Temple Meads, while others will travel via Melksham. Network Rail clarified that trains operating between London Paddington and Bedwyn would conclude their journeys at Newbury. The frequency of trains between Swindon and Westbury will be decreased as a consequence of the diverted services. Replacement bus services are planned. According to Network Rail, no additional disruptions were anticipated beyond these works.
