Rail services connecting Shrewsbury and Birmingham are set to experience a week of disruption due to a scarcity of trains. Transport for Wales has announced that routes operating between Shrewsbury and Birmingham International will conclude their journeys at Wolverhampton, effective from Saturday and continuing until at least Friday. A spokesperson for the company attributed the service interruptions to a “fleet shortage,” explaining that this is a consequence of several trains undergoing extensive maintenance examinations and repairs linked to the autumn season. The representative conveyed apologies to passengers and affirmed that the company is “working hard to minimise disruption to customers.” As a result of these service changes, passengers heading to either Birmingham New Street or Birmingham International are permitted to utilize alternative services without additional charge, from Monday through Friday. Additionally, the identical service had been cancelled on Tuesday, similarly owing to a lack of available trains. Follow BBC Birmingham on BBC Sounds, Facebook, X and Instagram. Copyright 2024 BBC.
