Detailed proposals have been developed for a £3.3 million overhaul of Wednesfield High Street. The City of Wolverhampton Council announced that the area will feature enhanced paving, lighting, greenery, and seating, along with improved pedestrian access and crossings, under the plans, which have received government funds. The project also includes better access to car parks, particularly through Bealeys Fold, and the establishment of a new space for events and activities. The council stated that technical plans would be finalized and a contractor appointed, with work anticipated to commence in spring next year and conclude by March 2026. Bhupinder Gakhal, cabinet member for resident services, commented that the scheme aims to restore “vibrancy” to the high street and surrounding areas, thereby boosting the local economy. He added that it would “make it a more welcoming place for all”. Ninder Johal, chair of Wolverhampton’s City Investment Board, said: “As a board we fought hard to secure funding to support improvements in district centres like Wednesfield and Bilston.” He further stated, “This scheme will make a major difference to Wednesfield High Street and the town centre as a whole, creating a better experience for businesses, residents and visitors.” Post navigation Undercover Probe Uncovers Alleged Mis-selling of Phone Contracts to Small Businesses Cryptocurrency Entrepreneur Consumes $6.2 Million Banana Artwork
