Potential disruption due to snow and ice is anticipated starting Monday evening, with accumulations reaching up to 20cm (7.9 in) in elevated areas of north Wales. The Met Office has issued a weather warning covering Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd, Powys, and Wrexham. This warning is in effect from 19:00 GMT on Monday until 11:00 on Tuesday. According to the forecaster, ice may develop on untreated surfaces on Tuesday morning as precipitation, including rain, sleet, and snow, starts to dissipate. The Met Office also indicated the possibility of travel delays across road, rail, and air networks, in addition to potential power outages. Furthermore, the agency cautioned that certain rural communities might experience isolation. Snowfall could also accumulate in lower elevations, which is expected to be “more disruptive,” though this scenario is more probable in central and eastern regions of England. Drivers have been advised by the Met Office to plan their routes ahead of time and to verify information regarding delays and road closures. Individuals were also instructed to prepare for potential power interruptions at their residences.
