Waverley Borough Council, a local authority in Surrey, is inviting residents to provide their feedback on the management of local parks and green areas. The council reports that it is responsible for the upkeep of 2.3 million square meters of green space throughout the borough. Steve Williams, the council’s portfolio holder for environment and sustainability, stated: “It’s crucial to understand where our contractors excel and where improvements are needed, so I encourage residents to participate.” Residents have until 17:00 on 15 December to submit their views. The council indicated that, based on input received last year, it has implemented the use of more electric vehicles and machinery to reduce both emissions and noise. Furthermore, the authority confirmed that all grass cuttings and tree clippings are now being composted.
