Tottenham manager Robert Vilahamn has stated his commitment to continuing with “brave, attacking football” when his team faces Everton, notwithstanding their current defensive difficulties. Spurs have conceded 21 goals this season, which is the highest tally among all teams in the Women’s Super League. “I’m not going into this game to try and have a clean sheet,” the Swedish manager remarked. He elaborated on the team’s priorities, adding, “If you look at how we prioritise, we want to score a lot of goals.” Having suffered five defeats in their last six WSL matches, Spurs now find themselves positioned just two points above Crystal Palace, who are at the bottom of the league table. Tottenham has recorded only one victory in their ten previous WSL encounters with Everton. A loss at Brisbane Road would see them drop below the Toffees in the standings. However, Vilahamn expressed his focus on moving up the table rather than looking down: “If we win this game we can be top six which is the same as last season. So, if you look at it that way, is it actually that terrible?” The Tottenham squad is strengthened by the return of Spain international Maite Oroz, who has been absent since mid-October. Vilahamn praised Oroz, stating, “She is on another level.” He further noted her significance, saying, “She was a big signing for us. She can find those progressive passes.” Conversely, the team has received a setback with the news that defender Ella Morris will be out for 10-12 weeks after sustaining a serious knee injury while representing the England under-23s.
