The woman who passed away following a collision in South Yorkshire has been named as Deborah Girgis, aged 54. Ms. Girgis was driving a grey Peugeot that was involved in a crash with a white Vauxhall van on the Haigh roundabout at approximately 11:10 BST on October 25. She subsequently died in hospital. According to South Yorkshire Police, the van’s driver, a 29-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit and causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released on bail. In a statement, Ms. Girgis’ family described her as “a beloved mother, wife and sister,” further noting that “she put everyone else first and asked for very little in return.” They added, “Losing her so unexpectedly has been a hammer blow to our family and left a hole that can never be filled.” South Yorkshire Police has appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has footage of the vehicles involved prior to the crash on the roundabout near Junction 38 of the M1, to make contact.
