Multiple vehicles traveling on the A2 in Kent have sustained damage after being struck by projectiles, which police suggest may have been launched by a catapult. The incident occurred near Darenth at approximately 17:50 GMT on Thursday. Police reported that the vehicles were reportedly hit by objects discharged from an area adjacent to the carriageway. Chief Inspector Will Lay stated: “It is fortunate that nobody was injured as a result of this incident. We initially thought catapults may have been used to launch the projectiles, but [we] are keeping an open mind as to how the damage was caused.” No arrests have been made in connection with the damage so far, but a ball bearing has been recovered for forensic examination. Officers are appealing to anyone with information to contact Kent Police.
