UK Police Arrest Two in Investigation of Father and Son Missing for Five Years

UK law enforcement has apprehended two individuals as part of their investigation into the disappearance of a father and son in Spain over five years ago. Daniel Poole and his son, Liam, residents of Burgess Hill, journeyed to Malaga during 2019. Sussex Police reclassified their missing persons case as a murder inquiry in 2022. This past Wednesday, the police force announced that two men were taken into custody, interrogated, and subsequently released while remaining under investigation as additional inquiries proceed. A public appeal for witnesses continues, with investigators providing a £10,000 reward for any details that result in the apprehension and prosecution of individuals accountable for the father and son’s vanishing. According to Sussex Police, a man in his 30s from West Sussex and another man in his 40s from the Merseyside area were both detained on suspicion of the murders of Danny and Liam. Det Ch Insp Simon Dunn stated that individuals possessing information might underestimate its significance, yet it could represent “the piece of the puzzle” required by law enforcement to construct a comprehensive understanding of the events that transpired. He further commented: “Although Danny and Liam went missing in Spain, we believe there are people in the UK who may hold vital information about their disappearance.” He continued, “We understand there may be some who have felt unable to come forward before now, but it’s not too late to do the right thing.” Lauryn, who is Danny’s daughter and Liam’s sister, previously conveyed that she contemplates the men’s fate daily.
