A two-year-old boy was killed and four adults sustained injuries in a hit-and-run incident that involved a stolen vehicle. The crash, which occurred just before 23:00 GMT on Saturday in Dartmouth Road, Smethwick, West Midlands, involved a Toyota Auris and a grey Porsche Cayenne. Among the injured, a 29-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man are currently hospitalized in serious condition, while another man and woman, both aged 30, are reported to be stable. Detectives stated that the driver of the Porsche, which had been reported stolen earlier in December, escaped from the site of the accident. Authorities suspect the Porsche was departing from the roundabout on Kenrick Way when the collision occurred. Police confirmed that the child and all four injured adults were occupants of the Toyota. Dartmouth Road was closed to traffic in both directions to allow specialist reconstruction personnel to investigate the scene, but it has since been reopened. Det Sgt Paul Hughes of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit issued a statement, saying: “I would urge the driver of the Porsche to do the right thing and come and talk to us. They made the wrong decision to run away and I’m asking them now to make the right one.” West Bromwich MP Sarah Coombes addressed Parliament on 27 November regarding speeding issues on Kenrick Way. She mentioned that local residents “dread” Friday and Saturday nights.
