A road collision has resulted in the deaths of two women, with two men transported to hospital, one of whom is in a critical state. The incident occurred on the A4050 in Barry, Vale of Glamorgan, approximately at 13:40 GMT on Saturday. The affected road section, stretching from the junction of Port Road East and Barry Dock Link Road to Pugh’s Garden Centre, was subsequently closed but has since been reopened. South Wales Police confirmed that two women succumbed to their injuries at the scene, and two men are presently undergoing medical treatment in hospital. Sgt Craig Wood stated: “First and foremost, our thoughts are with the family of the two women who have died in this collision.“ He further added: “We are in the early stages of our investigation and are still trying to establish the full circumstances.”Sgt Wood urged anyone who was driving in the vicinity between 13:30 and 13:50 on Saturday and possesses relevant information to contact the police. He concluded: “We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who can give us extra detail on the manner of driving of a grey Audi RS 4 prior to the collision,”.
