Two women were arrested after a man was discovered injured by a roadside in Rutland. Leicestershire Police reported receiving a call to the A606 Empingham Road, located between Empingham and Stamford, at approximately 06:45 GMT on Sunday. Responding officers located a 20-year-old man at the roadside, suffering from a serious leg injury. He was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment of head, leg, and pelvic injuries, none of which were deemed life-threatening. A vehicle suspected of being involved in the incident was later discovered abandoned in Oakham. The two women, both 20 years old, were apprehended on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving, drink-driving, and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. A statement issued by the force indicated that both individuals remain in custody, and the police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. PC Ellise Timmins, from the force’s serious collision investigation unit, stated: “While two people have been arrested, our investigation is very much continuing and I’m appealing for anyone who can help to get in touch.” Post navigation Roof collapses at Ryde house fire; crews worked overnight New Station Enhances Needles Coastguard Operations on Isle of Wight
