Two men are currently hospitalized in serious condition following a fire at an apartment complex. Emergency services, including firefighters and police, were dispatched to Archers Road, Southampton, on Tuesday, shortly after 19:40 GMT. Firefighters successfully rescued one man, aged in his 80s, from the flat. He was then transferred to the care of paramedics and transported to the hospital. The South Central Ambulance Service confirmed that a second man, located in a first-floor flat, received treatment at the scene for a pre-existing condition before also being taken to the hospital. The apartment building remains cordoned off as police and the fire service conduct an investigation into the circumstances of the fire. The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Service reported that crews used jets to extinguish the fire and subsequently checked all adjacent flats for any smoke or fire spread.
