Charges for murder have been filed against two individuals concerning the death of Karen Cummings, a children’s nurse. The 40-year-old mother was discovered unconscious with a severe head injury in Laurel Heights, Banbridge, County Down, on Saturday evening. She died at the location. BBC News NI understands that a firearm was involved in her death. The men, aged 32 and 42, are slated to appear before Newry Court on Wednesday. The 32-year-old is charged with murder, while the 42-year-old is also accused of firearm-related offences and handling stolen goods. Police had previously characterized Ms. Cummings’ death as “brutal and senseless.” The 42-year-old was taken into custody on Saturday, and the second man was arrested in the Banbridge area on Sunday. A memorial vigil for Ms. Cummings, who was employed at Daisy Hill Hospital, is scheduled to occur on Thursday evening at Solitude Park, Banbridge.
