Charges have been brought against two individuals regarding the 2022 hit-and-run collision that resulted in a woman’s death. On 24 July, shortly after 00:00 BST, Keita Mullen, 30, and a second woman were struck by a vehicle while crossing the A638 High Street in Bawtry, an area close to Doncaster. Ms Mullen, a mother of three children aged 10, five, and four months, succumbed to her injuries at the site of the incident. The other woman involved received hospital treatment for minor injuries. Matthew Harris, 36, residing at Burcroft Hill, Conisbrough, faces charges of causing death through dangerous driving and causing death by operating a vehicle without a license or insurance. Concurrently, Meryl Chambers, 51, also of Burcroft Hill, Conisbrough, has been charged with aiding and abetting death by driving while unlicensed or uninsured. According to South Yorkshire Police, both individuals are scheduled to appear before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on 7 January.
