Two individuals have been taken into custody on suspicion of murder after a man’s death resulting from a stabbing in a village. The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary reported that the man was discovered injured on Station Road, Netley, on Wednesday, shortly before 18:30 GMT. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. An 18-year-old man, from Southampton, and a 15-year-old boy, from Netley, have both been arrested and remain in police custody. A police cordon has been established on Station Road, near the entrance to the recreational ground. Insp Steve Goodall, from Hampshire police, stated: “Our teams and officers have been working tirelessly, around the clock, since this report was first made to us.” He added: “Thanks to their hard work, as well as the support of our communities, the investigation has progressed at a pace, and we have this morning made two arrests.” Inspector Goodall also commented: “I fully understand the significant concern that an incident such as this one will have caused within the wider community, and beyond.” He concluded by saying: “But, I hope the rapid developments in our investigation will offer you all reassurance that we are extremely determined in our investigation, and are working very hard to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident.” The force is appealing for witnesses and anyone with dashcam, doorbell camera, mobile phone, or any other CCTV footage to come forward.
