The West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (WSFRS) stated that they received a call concerning a fire on Derek Road, Lancing, at 8:56 GMT on Monday. Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service also responded to the event, assessing two people who were then conveyed to Worthing Hospital for additional medical evaluations. A spokesperson for WSFRS reported that crews discovered a fire on the ground floor of the property and successfully extinguished the flames utilizing two high-pressure hose reels. WSFRS added, “Firefighters administered oxygen therapy to one dog.” Three fire engines were dispatched to the incident, with two originating from Worthing and one from Shoreham.
