Two individuals are in critical condition in hospital after being struck by a van near retail establishments. A 14-year-old girl and a 71-year-old man sustained injuries close to the Castle Court Shopping Centre in Caerphilly at approximately 15:00 GMT on Tuesday. Gwent Police reported that a 24-year-old man from Cardiff has been apprehended on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving and driving while exceeding the legal drug limit. Officers are appealing for any witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage that could aid their investigation.
