Law enforcement officials have apprehended two individuals in connection with an incident where a man was assaulted and illuminated fireworks were launched at his home. According to police, the event took place at a property located in the Coney Hill vicinity just after 10:00 PM GMT on October 31. Eyewitnesses observed a group of males, one of whom was equipped with a baseball bat, forcing fireworks through the letterbox of the dwelling. They reportedly yelled at the resident and struck him in the face, subsequently propelling ignited fireworks through the windows before departing the location. Subsequently, two men, aged 26 and 28, both from Gloucester, have been taken into custody under suspicion of aggravated burglary. Gloucestershire Police confirmed that items, specifically including bicycles, were also taken from the premises. Furthermore, a child was observed discharging fireworks at the residence on the evening of November 2, approximately at 8:00 PM GMT. As a measure in response to these occurrences, the police force deployed extra patrols to the vicinity and stated that the occupants of the house had been “safeguarded”. The two individuals suspected have been granted bail as investigations proceed.
