Twelve individuals have been incarcerated for their involvement in a drug supply operation that generated an estimated £100,000 each month. Their arrests followed a six-month surveillance initiative that culminated in a series of raids in May 2023, as confirmed by West Midlands Police. At its peak, the criminal group, active in Solihull and Birmingham, processed over 1,000 calls daily and distributed heroin and crack cocaine to more than 200 users. The police force stated that this investigation was the most extensive undertaken by its County Lines Task Force since its establishment two years ago. Investigators discovered that the drug dealers managed four distinct business lines, identified by the codenames Rico, Diego, Figo, and Potter. Birmingham Crown Court was informed that the twelve convicted individuals were organized into small groups, each responsible for operating one of these lines. All defendants admitted guilt to charges of conspiracy to supply class A drugs during hearings held earlier this year and received their sentences on Wednesday. Detective Sergeant Craig Tennant noted the uncommon nature of the gang’s operation of four lines, describing it as a collaborative effort intended to maximize revenue. He characterized the police investigation as complex, stating that it has taken “a large number of drugs off the streets and put this group who caused misery in our communities behind bars for a very long time”. The individuals sentenced are: Aadam Iqbal, 28, of Ward End Park Road, received 12 years; Anees Mahmood, 24, of Parkfield Road, Alum Rock, was jailed for 12 years; Mohammed Yasine Sadiq, 27, of Fernbank Road, Birmingham, received 11 years; Ilyas Sadiq, 28, of Fernbank Road, Birmingham, was jailed for 10 years and 10 months; Levy Mukwita, 25, of Wallbank Court, Birmingham, received 10 years and six months; Mohammed Usman, 26, of Hodge Hill Road, Birmingham, was jailed for 10 years and six months; Amani Adams, 21, of Drews Lane, Birmingham, received eight years; Haroon Iqbal, 34, of Drylea Grove, Birmingham, was jailed for six years and four months; Adam Slater, 21, of Tyburn Road, Birmingham, received six years; Humair Ul Rehman, 27, of Rymond Road, Birmingham, received six years; Tiahna Phillips, 23, of Draycott Avenue, Birmingham, was jailed for five years; and Mark Seeley, 36, of Nineacres Drive, Solihull, received four years and eight months.
