The relatives of a woman who passed away following a collision on the A30 in Cornwall have honored her memory. Jean Theobold, aged 88, was characterized by her family as an “amazing lady with a youthful spirit”. According to Devon and Cornwall Police, officers responded to the Plusha junction around 08:25 GMT on 7 November after a two-vehicle collision occurred. Police reported that Ms Theobold was pronounced dead at the location, notwithstanding attempts at emergency medical intervention. The family’s statement highlighted that she was “fiercely independent” and “a loving mother and grandma to many and will be sorely missed by all her family”. The tribute further stated: “We are left traumatised and heartbroken by a tragedy and we would like to thank the emergency services and all the kind people that comforted Jean in last moments of her life.” Prior to this, Ms Theobold had been employed as a personal assistant at the UK Atomic Energy Authority. Her family’s tribute also mentioned: “She loved to keep abreast of new tech, often found in her home office surfing the net, emailing, and enjoying challenging puzzles.” It added that “She was a keen gardener and loved tending her beautiful garden and also loved to travel, she had cruised the world and was planning her next adventure.” Law enforcement officials indicated that an inquiry into the event is still active and requested that anyone possessing relevant details, such as dashcam recordings, that could aid the investigation, get in touch with the police department.
