Tottenham defender Ella Morris, who joined the club this summer on a three-year deal from Southampton, stated that her experience at the north London club aligns precisely with what was promised to her prior to her move. The 22-year-old Morris secured a three-year contract with Spurs after departing Southampton, with the aim of advancing her professional career. Currently, she is part of England’s under-23s squad, preparing for upcoming fixtures against Norway and Sweden. Morris commented on her experience, saying, “It’s been absolutely incredible. I don’t regret it for one second. What was sold to me is exactly what I’m getting.” She further elaborated on the benefits of her new environment: “I’m able to be among players like Bethany England, Drew Spence and just really high-performing internationals who have been in the game for a long time. It’s exciting for me to learn off them and see how they handle certain situations. It’s really helping me to progress – not only as a player, but also as a person.” Morris expressed her ambition to emulate her teammate Jess Naz, who has successfully transitioned from England’s youth teams to the senior squad under the guidance of manager Sarina Wiegman. Regarding Naz’s impact, Morris shared, “We spoke about how she found it. It’s been really inspirational to be around someone every day at training and see the standards she has. When she comes back from England she’s so sharp because she has been in that high-performing environment. It’s been really cool to see her do that. If I ever get the chance to do that then I have someone I can talk to who understands the experience. It’s been massive being around Jess every day.”
