Jordan Young marked his Torquay United debut by scoring a goal in under 15 minutes during their 2-2 home draw against Chelmsford City. Torquay United manager Paul Wotton expressed satisfaction with his side’s performance. Cody Cooke initially put “the Gulls” ahead in the fifth minute, reacting swiftly to a blocked shot from Young. Young, who had been signed from Yeovil Town for an undisclosed fee earlier in the week, then extended Torquay’s lead eight minutes later, firing in from 15 yards after a corner was not cleared. However, Jake Hyde headed one back for the Essex side after half an hour, and Cameron James secured an equalizer with seven minutes remaining by converting a rebound following a save from James Hamon. This draw keeps Torquay in fifth place in the National League South standings. They are currently three points behind league leaders Eastbourne Borough and have a game in hand. “I thought the team played well today,” Wotton told BBC Radio Devon. “We were 2-0 up, of course we should we should go on and win the game.” He added, “It’s disappointing, but I thought we played really well today, it’s the best we’ve played for a long time.” Post navigation Scottish Football Rumors: Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, and St Johnstone Transfer Updates Data-Driven Selection for a British and Irish Lions XV from the Autumn Internationals
