Great Britain’s Tom Pidcock, who made history as the first Briton to earn an Olympic medal in cross-country mountain biking at Tokyo 2020 and subsequently claimed another gold at the Paris Games this summer, has finalized a three-year contract with Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team. The 25-year-old Pidcock concluded his tenure with Ineos Grenadiers on 4 December, despite having previously agreed to a five-year deal with the British team in 2022. The double Olympic champion, who successfully defended his mountain bike title at Paris 2024, is scheduled to join his new team for a pre-season training camp in Calpe, Spain, in January. Pidcock commented on his transfer, stating, “This isn’t just a change of jersey, it’s the start of something special. The chance to work with a team that’s growing, with incredible partners and brands, is something that motivates me. I can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together.” Q36.5 Pro Cycling operates as a UCI ProTeam, competing in the second tier of professional cycling, while Ineos participates in the top-tier UCI World Tour. During his time with Ineos, Pidcock secured a stage victory in the Tour de France in 2022, in addition to winning the prestigious one-day classics Strade Bianche and Amstel Gold Race. Team manager Doug Ryder expressed his enthusiasm for the new signing, saying, “We are honoured to welcome Tom Pidcock to the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team. Tom is a true embodiment of passion and competitive spirit, qualities that resonate deeply with our team’s values. His extraordinary talent, both on and off the bike, and his proven ability to win at the World Tour level make him a game-changing addition to our roster. We look forward to writing this next chapter together.” Post navigation Postecoglou Plans for January Transfers as Youth Players Feature on Bench Caoimhin Kelleher’s Strong Form Prompts Debate on His Liverpool Backup Status
