Official ticket sales have commenced for an annual music festival staged within the premises of historic abbey ruins. The Glastonbury Extravaganza, situated in Somerset, was established in 1996 and represents one of three yearly events orchestrated by Michael Eavis and the Glastonbury Festival. Scheduled at Glastonbury Abbey ruins “as a thank you to the town”, the occasion is set to recur on 9 August 2025, operating from 16:30 to 22:00 BST. The pop rock group The Script is slated to be the headlining act for the concert, accompanied by various other special guests who are still to be revealed. A fireworks finale will mark the conclusion of the event. Initially conceived as a classical music concert, the festival later evolved to encompass a broader, more diverse selection of classical, pop, and rock genres. Its history includes performances by notable headliners such as Tom Odell, Van Morrison, Status Quo, Paolo Nutini, and Paloma Faith. Additionally, overnight camping opportunities will be provided at the campsite located at the base of the Glastonbury Tor, accessible by shuttle bus.
