Leeds United defender Junior Firpo has received a three-match ban for violent conduct, stemming from Wednesday’s Championship defeat against Millwall. Firpo has been booked in seven of his 14 appearances for Leeds this season, including the aforementioned match. The Football Association’s disciplinary action means the 28-year-old player will be unavailable for Saturday’s Championship fixture against QPR, in addition to subsequent games versus Swansea and Luton. A statement indicated that “The defender’s behaviour around the 95th minute wasn’t seen by the match officials, but was caught on video, and the FA alleged that it constitutes violent conduct.” Firpo, who has participated in 13 of Leeds’ 14 Championship fixtures this season, contested the accusation; however, an independent regulatory commission determined the charge to be proven.
