A stabbing incident in the city centre has resulted in serious injuries for two teenagers and an adult male. According to Greater Manchester Police (GMP), officers responding to a disturbance at Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester around 23:45 GMT on Saturday discovered two male teenagers, aged 17 and 18, suffering from stab wounds. Subsequently, a 20-year-old man sought medical attention at a hospital for a stab wound to the chest, which is thought to have been inflicted during the identical event. GMP indicated that none of the injuries sustained are considered life-threatening. Det Ch Insp Michelle Buchanan stated: “We are investigating an incident that occurred in Manchester city centre last night, which led to three people in hospital with serious injuries.“Officers are reviewing CCTV footage and forensic enquiries are being carried out.” She further mentioned that the force is “making good process” in the initial phase of this inquiry and urged anyone who was in the vicinity of Piccadilly Gardens and might have observed an argument shortly after 23:00 to contact them. “I also urge people who were in the area to check their mobile phones, or CCTV to see if they may have captured any footage that could be useful to our investigation, no matter how small, as any information may help us,” she added. She concluded by stating that an increased police presence would remain in the area.
