Three individuals were successfully rescued from a fishing boat that had become flooded after encountering difficulties south of Mull. The rescue operation involved the deployment of a coastguard helicopter from Prestwick, two RNLI lifeboats from Oban and Islay, and a CalMac ferry. HM Coastguard, which received the alert at 08:15, reported that the vessel had taken on a significant amount of water. A lifeboat subsequently transported the crew to shore. Services on CalMac’s Iona to Fionnphort route were temporarily suspended following the diversion of the ferry MV Loch Buie to assist in the rescue.
