A three-day fair featuring rides and stalls is scheduled to occupy a Derbyshire town centre. The Chestnut Fair is set to return to Long Eaton, commencing on Thursday, November 21, and concluding on Saturday, November 23. The borough council stated that this event will be “one of the final big street fairs” of the year within Erewash. The authority also announced that road closures would be implemented in the town from November 18 until 00:00 GMT on the subsequent Sunday. The fair’s location will span the High Street and extend to Market Place in the town centre, with the Beaconsfield car park also being closed. Additionally, Long Eaton is scheduled to host a Christmas lights switch-on event on November 28. Ilkeston, a nearby location, will have its switch-on event on November 29. Both events are slated to occur between 17:30 and 20:30, as confirmed by Erewash Borough Council. BBC Derby can be followed on Facebook, X, or Instagram.
