A family has reported losing “everything” after a fire completely destroyed their residence. The property, situated on Thornaby Road in Thornaby, Teesside, sustained severe damage from the blaze on Monday afternoon, leading to two individuals being transported to the hospital for medical attention. Cleveland Fire Brigade confirmed their attendance at the scene shortly after 15:20 GMT and stated they were actively combating the fire for approximately an hour and a half. An online fundraising initiative, which has garnered more than £5,000 to date, highlighted the family’s dire situation, noting they were left with “no belongings, no Christmas gifts” and had “lost everything” they owned. A spokesperson for Cleveland Police indicated that the fire is currently being “treated as accidental.” The spokesperson further added that “Neighbouring properties were evacuated as a precaution and a road closure was put in place.”
