The conviction of a third individual has been secured in connection with the murder of a 21-year-old man whose body was discovered in a stream. Owen Fairclough was located on 23 June 2023, close to Risley Lane in Breaston, Derbyshire, bearing a cut throat and two stab wounds. David Oswald, 31, residing at Granville Square in Birmingham, along with a second man, identified as Man A due to legal restrictions on naming, received guilty verdicts for murder and for possessing an offensive weapon at Derby Crown Court on Tuesday. Furthermore, a jury at the same court on Friday determined another individual, referred to as Man B for legal anonymity, to be guilty of murder. Jack Towell, 22, from Castle Boulevard in Nottingham, admitted guilt to charges of murder and possession of an offensive weapon during the proceedings. Evidence presented to the jury earlier indicated that Mr Fairclough arrived in Breaston on 21 June 2023, where he encountered Towell. Towell then enticed him to a “secluded spot” where Oswald and Man A were “lying in wait.” A group of teenagers discovered his body two days subsequent to this event. All four individuals are scheduled for sentencing at Derby Crown Court on Monday.
