The owner of a bed and breakfast reports that its feature on a Channel 4 program has been “good for business.” The Roade House in Roade, Northamptonshire, was showcased as one of the venues on Four in a Bed. The program features four sets of owners staying at each other’s B&B establishments, rating them on cleanliness, service, and food, with the winners announced at the week’s end. Paul Bullwright, who operates the house with his wife Maxine, initially stated he was “concerned with how [the business] would be portrayed” but described the final program as “great.” The Bullwrights purchased The Roade House in 2019, though it did not commence operations as a B&B until 2023. The B&B now provides eight rooms, doubling the initial four rooms available when it opened. Filming for the show occurred over a two-week period, involving the couple’s travel across the country. Mr. Bullwright stated that being on the program offered “great publicity” and indicated an increase in bookings attributed to the appearance. He added: “It went as well as we could have expected, and although there’s always room for improvement, we’ve addressed all the issues brought up [by the other contestants].” He concluded, “It was a really fun experience. We couldn’t be happier.” Post navigation Historic Cornwall Dry Dock Secures £2m for Refurbishment Celebrity Chef Michael O’Hare’s Restaurant Company Faced Nearly £1 Million in Debt Before Liquidation
