The Tees Valley Combined Authority has initiated a public consultation process for its upcoming year’s budget. The draft budget has received approval from the leaders of the five councils comprising the combined authority: Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland, and Stockton-on-Tees. For the 2025-26 fiscal year, the primary objectives identified are fostering economic expansion within the region and enhancing its cultural and tourism sectors. The combined authority’s cabinet is scheduled to reconvene on 31 January. Brenda Harrison, the Labour leader of Hartlepool Council, expressed certain reservations regarding public consultations, as reported by the Local Democracy Reporting Service. She commented: “I wouldn’t imagine that everybody looks at the website – I just wondered if there was any other way of bringing that to people’s attention?” Gary Macdonald, the group director of finance and resources, stated: “We publish it on the website, so it’s open to basically anyone to comment.” Post navigation William Wallace Letter Exhibited for Five Hours Farmers Protest Government Inheritance Tax Plans
