A 15-year-old male sustained serious injuries in a hit-and-run collision that occurred close to a school in Kirkby. According to Merseyside Police, the teenager was riding his bicycle on Bracknell Avenue, near Kirkby High School, when he was struck by a grey Honda Civic. A spokesperson for the police confirmed that the boy is currently in hospital in a serious but stable condition following the collision on Sunday. Detective Sergeant Andy Roper stated: “Our thoughts are with the boy and his family at this time. It is beyond belief that someone would drive away from such an incident and leave behind a seriously injured rider in the road.” The event took place on Bracknell Avenue in Kirkby, near its intersection with Kirkby High School, at approximately 18:25 GMT on Sunday. Authorities indicated that the vehicle is thought to have departed the scene in the general direction of Bewley Drive and Broad Lane after the collision. Det Sgt Andy Roper issued an appeal for any witnesses or individuals possessing dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward. He further added: “I would also appeal that if you have seen a grey Honda Civic acting suspiciously in the hours leading up to this collision or parked / abandoned since the incident occurred, to contact us as a matter of urgency.” Post navigation South Belfast Property Incident Investigated as Hate Crime Chief Constable Craig Guildford’s Reinstatement Approved
