A male adolescent has been indicted for stabbing a woman in the chest during an effort to purloin her handbag. The individual, who is in her 20s, sustained a punctured lung from the assault, which occurred in Liverpool’s Toxteth district on Wednesday 13 November, according to Merseyside Police. The incident took place as she was walking on Solway Street West at 07:10 GMT; an assailant approached, demanding her bag, and upon her refusal, proceeded to stab her. A 17-year-old male residing in Toxteth has been formally accused of wounding with intent, attempted robbery, and possession of cannabis. The woman has since been released from the hospital, the police force confirmed. The boy presented himself at Liverpool Youth Court on Wednesday, where he was ordered to remain in custody pending his appearance at Liverpool Crown Court on 2 January. Detective Inspector Chris Carlin stated: “Robbery is an offence that can shatter confidence and make people feel unsafe in the heart of our communities.“The use of knives to commit harm and cause fear in Merseyside will never be tolerated.”
