Teenager Arrested Following Knifepoint Robbery of Delivery Driver

A 15-year-old male has been apprehended after a takeaway delivery driver was forcibly removed from his vehicle and robbed at knifepoint in Huddersfield. The incident occurred on 3 December when the driver was delivering a meal to an address on Poplar Street, Birkby, and was pulled from his car and threatened by three males. West Yorkshire Police reported that the suspects subsequently fled the scene with the takeaway. The driver was described as “shaken” but sustained no physical harm. The police force confirmed that the teenager was arrested in connection with the incident on suspicion of robbery and has since been released on police bail. A spokesperson for the force stated: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and are exploring the possibility that suspects put in a fake order to the takeaway business in order to lure a driver to the location.” The spokesperson further appealed for public assistance, adding: “We very much want to speak with any witnesses and particularly anyone who has dashcam or CCTV footage which shows the offence or a group of three male suspects approaching the driver or leaving the area.”
