An inquest has disclosed that a 17-year-old motorcyclist, Meylie Nesham, died in a crash in York on 3 August 2023, just five days before his 18th birthday. The fatal incident occurred on Foxwood Lane when he lost control of his motorbike. Evidence presented at the inquest indicated that he had been seen on the wrong side of the road shortly before the collision. It was surmised that he was “braking heavily from speed” when his vehicle struck a kerb, causing him to be thrown from the bike and into a lamppost. Mr. Nesham, who worked as a mechanic, sustained multiple traumatic injuries in the crash. Coroner John Broadbridge officially recorded a conclusion of death in a road traffic collision.
