An individual working as a taxi driver has received a 16-month prison sentence, following the discovery that his personal dashcam had documented him sexually assaulting a female fare. Authorities state that Imran Yaseen targeted the woman around 23:00 GMT on February 14, subsequent to collecting her in Nottingham city centre. The victim, described as a woman in her 30s, was occupying the front passenger seat when Yaseen, aged 40, initiated inappropriate remarks and touched her leg. Nottinghamshire Police further reported that he subsequently stopped the vehicle near Clifton and committed a serious sexual assault against the woman. Yaseen’s arrest occurred the subsequent day, once the taxi company had identified him. His vehicle was then confiscated, along with an internally oriented dashboard camera that, according to the police force, had been installed for the protection of himself and other drivers from harm. Upon downloading the video footage, officers were able to observe and listen to the complete incident. Yaseen, whose address is Burnside Road, Bilborough, admitted guilt to three charges of sexual assault at Nottingham Crown Court in March. His sentencing took place at the identical court on Thursday. Beyond his custodial sentence, Yaseen was also issued a sexual harm prevention notice, which will prohibit him from operating a taxi upon his release and will place him on the sex offenders’ register for a duration of 10 years. PC Tom Gregory commented: “This was an opportunist assault on a vulnerable female passenger and I am pleased Yaseen has now been jailed.” He added: “The victim in this case put her trust in him to take her home safely and he utterly abused that trust by subjecting her to a prolonged sexual assault. Thanks to the evidence contained on his own dashcam camera, he had little option but to plead guilty and will now spend a significant amount of time in time in prison.” Post navigation Son pleads guilty to father’s murder Retail Employees Report Assaults and Spitting Incidents
