Supporters of Tamworth’s football club state that their team’s FA Cup third-round encounter with Tottenham is expected to enhance the town’s recognition. The Lambs were paired with the north London club in Monday’s draw, having previously eliminated Huddersfield and Burton Albion in earlier rounds. Spurs and Tamworth are scheduled to compete on the weekend of 11/12 January, following the Lambs’ victory over Albion on Sunday. Lynda Debono commented, “They’re a good team, and a good manager as well. I only live up the road, and I can hear the screams from the ground.” George, a Spurs fan, conveyed his anticipation for the upcoming game in the new year during an interview with BBC Radio WM. He stated, “I was absolutely buzzing to be honest. It’s a great opportunity, as a Tottenham fan you think it’s a nice easy draw, but at the same time I’ve seen Tottenham lose to many a side which we should be beating. I will be putting £5 on Tamworth, believe you me.” Concurrently, Ben Cooke, a lifelong Tamworth fan, described the accomplishment as remarkable for his team, considering their opponents are professional athletes. He elaborated, “To knock out two League One sides – Huddersfield and Burton, who are full time players – these guys at Tamworth, they’ve got full time jobs, they’ve got families, they don’t train full time, they’ve got other commitments. For the town it’s incredible, especially for the club, to put us on the map and the financial gains it brings.” Post navigation Manchester City Dominates Fifpro Men’s World XI with Four Selections Dublin Legend James McCarthy Announces Inter-County Retirement
