A swan has been reintroduced to its natural habitat following an incident where it crash-landed through a glass skylight on a warehouse roof. The mute swan breached the skylight at the Lush Cosmetics facility located in Poole, Dorset. Initially, it became suspended in netting above the warehouse floor, but subsequently descended to the ground after attempting to take flight from a girder. The swan had been recovering from bruising and a wing cut under the care of Wildlife Rescue, a charity based in Ringwood. Warehouse personnel had contacted the wildlife organization for assistance following the bird’s unforeseen entry through the roof, which resulted in the swan being encircled by broken glass. Mike Meeks of Wildlife Rescue commented: “He had made a remarkable recovery… if we were to name him, we’d call him ‘Lucky’.” The charity confirmed that the swan was released into the River Avon within the Avon Valley.
