A girl from Sussex who overcame cancer is slated to participate in a choir for the 2024 BBC Children in Need event. Bea, currently 12 years old, received her diagnosis during her toddler years. Her treatment involved chemotherapy, which led to hearing impairment, and she now uses a hearing aid. The Children with Cancer Fund, an organization collaborating with BBC Children in Need, provided assistance for Bea’s recovery. The choir is composed of 19 young individuals from across the country who have benefited from Children in Need. They are scheduled to perform Take That’s “Never Forget,” under the direction of the acclaimed vocal coach and music arranger, Mark De Lisser. Bea commented: “It’s really cool to be part of the BBC Children in Need Choir, I am enjoying learning the song as my parents knew it, but I didn’t.” “I am looking forward to going to Manchester and meeting the others in the choir too.” “I am really happy to be supporting CWCF as they have been really helpful to me.” The Children with Cancer Fund offers a venue for those who have encountered similar challenges to convene. It organizes engaging activities aimed at fostering confidence, resilience, and acceptance. The 2024 BBC Children in Need event is scheduled for November 15, with further details available.
