Explosive ordnance disposal specialists have detonated suspected military armaments discovered in a river. Derbyshire Police reported that two devices, which they believe could have been mortars, were found by magnet fishers near Duffield Bridge in Duffield on Friday morning. A section of Makeney Road was closed for several hours as an explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) team from the Army traveled to the location to carry out the detonation. The road has since been reopened, and the police force expressed gratitude to the public for their patience.
