Police have reported the discovery of several suspected firearms in County Tyrone. This development follows a shooting incident that occurred in Coalisland last week. According to police, the victim, a man in his 40s, stated that two individuals approached him on Wednesday, October 30, while he was inside a vehicle in the town. He reported that a suspected firearm was inserted through his vehicle’s window, and he sustained a gunshot wound to his arm sometime prior to 19:00 GMT. The man was transported to a hospital, where he received treatment for injuries described as non-life-threatening. The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed in a statement that officers investigating the shooting uncovered the weapons. “Detectives have been carrying out numerous searches in the area yesterday and today, and located a number suspected firearms. They have been seized and will be sent for further testing,” Det Insp Ryan said. Additionally, several imitation firearms were found. In connection with the incident, a 34-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman were arrested on Tuesday, and both are currently being held in police custody. Police have extended their gratitude to the community for its patience and have issued an additional appeal for information.
