A man has been taken into custody on suspicion of drug driving after a 10-year-old boy was involved in a collision with a car and sustained serious injuries. The incident, which saw the boy collide with a grey Mercedes, took place on Undercliffe Old Road in Bradford just before 20:20 GMT on Wednesday. West Yorkshire Police reported that the boy was transported to a hospital, suffering from injuries described as serious but not thought to be life-threatening. The driver, a 21-year-old man, was apprehended at the scene on suspicion of operating a vehicle while unfit due to drugs. Police confirmed that he has since been released on bail, pending ongoing investigations.
